For 25 years, the Waitt Foundation and now the Waitt Institute for Violence Prevention has helped support the work of the Sanford community center in our hometown of Sioux City, Iowa.
In it's 80 year history, the Center has served thousands of children in their families in their homes, school, and community.
Of particular interest to WIVP is the outstanding Youth Prevention Outreach Program.

For past five years we have sponsored a free and open to the community fundraising event that has raised over 500,000
At some point, we plan to partner with the CVP at the University of Northern Iowa to further study this program and expand it to other communities.
